What makes this crowning moment even more emotional is her journey. Mia competed in Miss Universe Cuba 2025 and reached the Top 5 despite suffering facial paralysis shortly before the final. She returned one year later believing in a second chance, stood on that stage again, and heard the words she had dreamed about:
“Miss Cuba 2026... Isla de la Juventud!” ❤️
Former queen Lina Luaces then crowned the woman who competed alongside her just a year earlier.
Now Mia Dio begins a new journey representing Cuba at Miss Universe 2026 in Puerto Rico.
